“We see that it’s safe and we go do our work, and around us, you know, Paris disintegrates.”— Leonardo DiCaprio on the occasionally perplexing process of shooting “Inception,” the latest big budget thriller by Christopher Nolan. The film is being marketed with intentionally opaque trailers that feature fantastical but disconnected snippets of action.

“To me the most important part of Rockwell’s work is that it illustrates compassion and caring about other people. You could almost say he was a Buddhist painter.”— the filmmaker George Lucas, an avid collector of paintings by Norman Rockwell. Mr. Lucas and Steven Spielberg have pooled their works into a new Rockwell exhibition at the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington.

“It’s me, standing alone. OutKast is a part of who I am. But this album is just me.” — Big Boi (born Antwan Patton), the rapper who is half of the popular duo OutKast. “Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty,” his long-delayed solo album, will be released  on Tuesday.

“I’ve hit the ground running. And there’s no time to lose here. We’ve got to make an impact.” — Jeffrey Deitch, the art dealer turned director of the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los  Angeles. No mega-dealer like Mr. Deitch had ever made the transition to running a nonprofit museum.
