As Hollywood royalty he's an old pro at walking a red carpet.
And tonight Brad Pitt made the most of his star status having fun at the premiere of Killing Them Softly.
The
48-year-old actor arrived at the screening in Cannes looking
effortlessly cool wearing black tie attire and a pair of gold aviator
sunglasses.
Effortlessly cool: Brad Pitt stepped out onto
the red carpet of Killing Them Softly in a pair of shiny aviator
sunglasses and lapped up the attention form the crowds
Before
he stepped on to the carpet to greet his adoring fans Brad was seen
carrying a glass with clear liquid in it, perhaps a little pre-premiere
spirit to toast the occasion.
And
while it could have just been water he appeared to hide the glass
behind him as he left the Hotel Eden-Roc en route to the screening.
Hollywood's hottest: Brad Pitt looks effortlessly cool at the Cannes film premiere for Killing Them Softly
Pre-premiere tipple? Brad was seen clutching a glass with clear liquid in as he left his hotel en route to the premiere
The
actor, who is planning to wed Angelina Jolie but says the couple
haven't set a date, was also seen playing on his iPhone as he stood on
the carpet ahead of the screening.
He was seen taking a few snaps with his mobile, perhaps to show his six children upon his return home.
Brad also proved that where he goes, the beautiful ladies follow and his premiere had no shortage of stunningly gorgeous girls.
And
it seemed that everyone had decided to put their best fashion foot
forward for the evening with plunging necklines and thigh-high slashes
certainly not in shortage.
Diane
Kruger, Kelly Brook and Irina Shayk were just three of the famous
ladies who looked stunning as they walked the red carpet at the film
festival.
First up to grace the carpet was actress Diane Kruger who looked heavenly in a floor-length white dress.
The
sheer number highlighted her slender figure and featured floral
detailing on her left shoulder as well as feathering underneath her
hips.
The German star wore
her blonde hair in a chic up do and spent time posing with her boyfriend
Joshua Jackson who looked smart in a simply black tuxedo.
Brad wore similar attire but somehow managed to look the best out of the male attendees.
Matching the red carpet was Russian model Irina Shayk who wore a bright flowing gown that showed off her enviable figure.
What's in there then? Bradd was seen leaving Hotel Eden-Roc with a glass with clear liquid in
The brunette also showed off her left leg as the garment featured a thigh high split that Brad is all too familiar with.
Irina teamed the gown with gold strapped heels, a corsage bracelet and statement earrings.
She brought along black diamond specialist Fawaz Gruosi, who founded Swiss luxury jeweller De Grisogono in 1993.
Alson
wowing on the red carpet was model Karolina Kurkova Chinese actress Lui
Bingbing who both chose to wear dark coloured dresses.
Karolina modelled a halterneck black sequinned dress with dark red lipstick and her blonde hair in a quiff.
Lui wore a strapless sheer dress that also included sequin detail and also had a mini train.
While
Brad spent time mingling on the red carpet with his co-stars of the
film Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn and film producer Dede Gardner, various
other glamorous ladies were arriving.
All in black: Brad joined director Andrew Dominik, actress Dede Gardner and actors Ray Liotta and Ben Mendelsohn for a photo
Now you seem them, now you don't: Brad kept his sunglasses on as he took photos on his iPhone
In good spirits: The actor couldn't wipe the smile from his face as he greeted the crowd
Michelle
Rodriguez and singer Natalia Oreiro looked angelic in floor-length
white gowns, and Tais Araujo also opted for a light coloured gown that
featured a black PVC band underneath the bust.
However
some ladies chose a more colourful look for the evening and on Alex
Baldwin's arm was his fiancée Hilaria Thomas who wore a green and black
leopard print gown.
It's our turn now! Brad and director of the film Andrew Dominik played paparazzi as they took photos at the event
Stars of the film: Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn, Scoot McNairy and Brad looked very smart in their black tuxedos
A man in demand: The actor was seen singing autographs for fans as he made his way down the carpet
But
she wasn't the only female guest who likes the colour green as Araceli
Gonzalez and Luisana Lopilato also wore the same colour as they posed
for photographs.
Earlier
on at a photocall for the upcoming film, star of the movie Brad
revealed that despite the recent announcement of his engagement to
Angelina Jolie - the pair have not set a date yet.
While it was widely rumoured he planned to wed Angelina this year, he was quick to dispel talk.
He's the man of the moment: Brad confidently strode down the carpet while chaos erupted around him
The kids will love this! The actor made sure he documented all the activities of the day
Brad
told Mail Online: 'We truly have no date. I'm still hoping we'll figure
out our marriage equality in the States before then', Pitt said
referring to the debate in the US over same sex marriage.
And he hinted that part of the reason may lay in Angelina's filming commitments.
When Brad was asked about the whereabouts of Angelina, he explained she was away preparing for a new film role.
Cool customer Brad stood with director Andrew
Dominik, Dede Gardner, Ray Liotta, Ben Mendelsohn and Scoot McNairy on
the steps into the screening
Hands on: The film gang all posed up together
The actress was expected to wow the red carpet tonight at the gala screening of the film.
Instead today marked a rare break for Brad from his brood, as he stepped out minus partner Angelina and their six children.
Glamorous ladies: Diane Kruger looked stunning in a white dress while Irina Shayk opted for a red number
Colourful lady: Kelly Brook looked beautiful in a multi-coloured jewelled gown
The look of love: The German actress stayed close to her boyfriend Joshua Jackson who wore a simple tuxedo
But
he obviously wanted to get to work promoting the Andrew Dominick film,
in which he plays a contract killer alongside stars including Scoot
McNairy, Ray Liotta, Vince Curatola, and Ben Mendelson.
Although Brad said he wasn't troubled by violence in movies.
The
actor was speaking at a press conference after the world premiere
screening of the film and said that violence is an accepted part of the
gangster world and noted that violence goes hand in hand with crime.
Brad said he would have little problem with his children watching violent movies when they're older.
Front and back: The British model's choice of attire highlighted her enviable curves
New best friend: Irina arrived with jeweller Fawaz Gruosi
Shady ladies: Chinese actress Li Bingbing and Karolina Kurkova wore black gowns as they arrived at the premiere
'I would find playing a racist more unsettling than playing someone who shoots someone in the face', Brad declared.
'We
live in such a violent world' he added and then asked people who love
hamburgers to think about the killing involved in creating that burger.
'I don't see a world without violence', he added.
The film Killing Them Softly suggests that murder in a gangland setting is acceptable.
One of the movie's key moments has Brad and a Mob lawyer, played by
Richard Jenkins, discussing the execution of some robbers as a simple
business transaction.
Grecian goddess: Michelle Rodriguez wore a white gown with a statement necklace
Ladies in white:
Singer Natalia Oreiro wore a strapless dress while Tais Araujo also
opted for a light coloured gown that featured a black PVC band
underneath the bust
Indeed
one line in the film is sure to become much quoted as Brad's character
says to Richard: 'America's not a country, it's just a business'.
It uses the gangster genre, and humour, to make larger points, not always successfully, about the state of the economy.
'We
were certainly at the apex of the mortgage loan debacle,' Brad said on
the beginning of the project. 'I felt that I was reading a gangster film
and it wasn't until the very end that it coalesced for me as far what
the direction of the film is pointing to overall - that this microcosm
is actually saying something about the macro world.'
Keeping their cool: Actor Jeremy Irons and P Diddy (R) wore different suits to the premiere
Say cheese! Ronan Keating posed alongside singer Laura Michelle Kelly
He
added that he doesn't intend Killing Them Softly, which is scheduled
for release this September, to be read as his views or to be fodder for
the upcoming election season.
'I
always feel that crime films are about capitalism,' said Dominik, the
director of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
'It's the only genre where it's perfectly accepted for all the characters to be motivated by a desire for money only.'
Feeling wild: Alec Baldwin's fiance Hilaria Thomas wore a green leopard print gown
Fans of green: Luisana Lopilato and Araceli Gonzalez wore the same colour too
